Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan dies at 74
Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan gave up the ghost on October 8, 2020, at the age of 74. He was suffering from a protracted illness. Paswan's passing came as another stun for Indian governmental issues, following the death of Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee. Paswan served because of the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
World Food Programme wins Nobel Peace Prize 2020
The World Food Program (WFP) has been granted the Nobel Peace Prize 2020 on October 9, 2020, for its endeavors to battle hunger. the choice of the distinguished award was taken by the Norwegian Nobel Committee. the planet Food Programme contributed towards improving the conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas.
BRICS Bank awards endorsement to USD 741 million for Rapid Rail and Mumbai Metro
BRICS Bank also referred to as New Development Bank, approved USD 741 million funds for Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail and Mumbai metro projects. Of this total amount, USD 500 million is allocated for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional mass rapid transit system (RRTS) Project, and USD 241 million are allocated for Mumbai Metro Rail Project.
RBI keeps policy repo rate unchanged at 4%
Hold Bank of India in its Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy audit kept the arrangement Repo Rate unaltered at 4% while keeping up the accommodative position. Consequently, the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate and discount rate remain unchanged at 4.25%.
